The city
A planned town that became a city
Subang Jaya was planned on the former Seafield Estate. Works began in 1974 and the new town opened on 21 February 1976. It became a city on 20 October 2020, and Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya (MBSJ), the city council, administers about 162 square kilometres.
The council lists its areas as SS12 to SS19; PJS 7, PJS 9, PJS 11 and Bandar Sunway; USJ 1 to USJ 27; and areas of Puchong, Kinrara and Putra Heights.

Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya has its headquarters on Persiaran Perpaduan, USJ 5, 47610 Subang Jaya. Its call centre is on 03-8024 7700 (mbsj.gov.my).

Online through Portal EZY MBSJ (ezy2.mbsj.gov.my) or the Gemilang MBSJ app, by JomPAY with biller code 6585, or at the council's kiosks and through e-wallets.
Making a complaint
Through the council's SISPAA MBSJ system, the PBT Care portal of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (pbtcare.kpkt.gov.my), the call centre, or the counter at the headquarters.

Addresses in SS15 use 47500, as do the Bandar Sunway addresses in this guide. The council's own headquarters in USJ 5 uses 47610, so check the postcode for the exact street before you rely on it.
